How Much to Ship My S2000 to Hawaii?
Does anyone know how much it would cost to ship my S2000 to Hawaii (probably the Honolulu area), and how long it would take?
I'm also interested in how much it would cost for registration, etc.
I'm checking out a job offer, and trying to figure out the details.

Shipping usually runs around 900ish (not counting fuel cost surcharges). Our company switched from Matson to Horizon lines and have gotten much better service. The car are containerized, and arrive in much better condition with less shipping damage. Registration is around 130 (vehicle weight).
IMO these costs are insignificant relocating details compared to the hight cost of living here. Do your research well cause you could find yourself taking a pay cut after everything is factored in. On the bright side, you would be living in paradise where you can use a convertible year 'round!

Hi Pete
I'm a happy customer of your seat locks
Heed what Colin says. Not that I'm discouraging moving out here, as I love Hawaii.
Well, the change won't be as dramatic for you since I'm sure living in Hollywood isn't cheap and you also get good weather for most of the year.

Pete, if you really want the lowdown about Hawaii and relocating, you can PM me. Average price of a 3 bedroom house is over $600k now. Supreme gas is ~$2.60+ per gallon (highest in the nation). On average, half a gallon of milk is on sale for $3.69.
I always tell people that Hawaii is a nice place to visit, but not to live in. Job salaries are low compared to national standards. Everything is expensive to purchase. I would suggest living here for a month and see how you like it before you commit to a long term job.
Don't get me wrong, Hawaii is the best place to live for weather, beaches and babes! (smccurry made me mention the last one) It's just really expensive to live here than most people think.

medical residency positions in hawaii are very hard to get because of the high number of applicants and low number of openings. last year from the John A. Burns medicals school in hawaii, i heard only one person got in to a place in hawaii, and i think he was previously a MIT grad. my brother graduated last year and he had to move to cali.
