The service is open to all, as we may also look into doing the new Civics with K-engines and RSX's.
The Mugen mods are easy to do (but that radiator cap may require flying in a specialist from the mainland). Just remember to do it with the car cold (not just cool) and take your time, it's not hard to do.

If you are an ASE certified mechanic, you aren't going to have any problems.
I cannot stress enough the importance of having the right tools for the job. If we had had the Snap-On tools to begin with, we may have finished the job on the first day as planned (Mike brought them with him the next morning and we quickly finished the job).
If you're not careful torquing the manifold bolts, you could really be in for some inconveniences. I've read threads of others who installed the gasket and experienced coolant loss for a period of time, or worse, had instances of coolant leaking into the head (!).
Jimmy: You write very well. I think you could have been an author. You're making me want to buy a Hondata gasket and I already have one!

Correct. We both discussed how we needed to approach it and was shocked at how quick it was. It would've been faster if the car was cold (we started working on it about 15 minutes after shutting off the car. He did excellent work in record time. I'm certain that his years of experience helped him overcome all the hard stuff.

Jimmy- I've got 2 questions for you.
1. Where did you get your gasket. I tried calling Modacar where I bought my first one back in August of '02, but their number has changed.
2. How is the scheduling to get this done? Is it pretty flexible or will we have to reserve it far in advance? Any particular days that are not good?
3. Will putting on 2 gaskets one of top of the other increase the benefits over just installing one gasket?
Just kidding on the number 3 question.
Mike Fujioka (mice) is interested in installing soon, and would rather pay the $200 than do another install (he helped me install mine).

I got mine from Modacar also. I went to their website and ordered via online cart.
I'll call my friend up to find out the best time to do the job. Installing the new fan swtich and thermostat will be easy to do at the same time. There would be no additional charge for the install.
We can try installing 12 gaskets, but the intake manifold might stick out the driver side fender a little bit (but a little cutting via torch and Bondo will fix that.)

I think the the S2000 is too symmetrical for my tastes (this is why I have a single outlet exhaust on the back, and a weird front bumper with the intake hole cut-out on the right). I would like an interior shot with the hood open and see the huge kamaboko wedged between the head and the intake manifold, and an exterior shot of the bondo/torch work to make it all fit. Can I suggest swapping one of your black seats and door panels for the ones with the red inserts? Better yet, how about the blue door panel, it is blue isn't it? Take it further and swap one headlight and taillight for one '03 and one '04. Shall I keep going on?
