I know some of you were asking about the Hondata Gasket install. I was one of the four infamous shade tree mechanics who assisted Mccurry install his. I ended up jobbing this out and paid someone to do mine. Recently, I got in touch with the guy who did my Hondata install. He is still willing to do them.
You have to provide the parts as he does the install only. It will take 2-4 hours max.
Hondata gasket and Mugen fan switch $225
Above and Mugen thermostat replacement $250

When I get stuck in stop and go H-1 parking lot traffic my S2k would be fine for about 5 to 10 minutes. Then when you tried to start off from a stop, the car would buck, lunge forward like you didn't know how to drive a standard shift vehicle. Then if you revved the motor up the situation only got worse.
The Hondata gasket insulates the intake manifold from blocking off engine coolant to it and creates a thermo barrier to keep the intake runners cooler in a already hot climate. When you make this change you should change out the radiator fan switch. Another mod at this time to get the motor to run cooler temps is changing out the thermostat one rated cooler than the stock.
I found with these mods I was able to crawl in H-1 traffic for about 20 - 25 minutes before the car would buck, not like before, but a lot less.
Later, I found that the bucking went completely away after changing the gear ratio in the differental. But buying and installing a gear set cost any where from twice to three times the cost of the Hondata gasket, fan switch, and thermostat install.

Definitely worth it. A must for anyone who has to drive in any traffic at all.
In Hawaii, the two best mods that won't adversely affect day to day driveability would be the Hondata gasket with accompanying cooling mods (thermostat, fan switch, radiator cap) and the final gear change. Well, you will see worse mileage with the gear change if you regularly travel over 70 mph.
Responsiveness of the s2k is much improved with these mods.
