LOL. Well, if any of you are curious and want to verify the car, here's a link to a picture of it. It has the stock wheels on it, because he took those SOMBRERO ass wheels off it, and put it on the trade in. The license plate is NNB-287. And I know that the mileage was @/around 13K.

updated... link posted... and the CEL was blinking? wow, i didn't know that. CEL's aren't good period. 4 one, on OBD2 compliant vehicles they run in fail-safe or limp home mode if the CEL is illuminated. as for CEL blinking, that is also not good. that's usually an indication of a catalyst damage condition.

i have a "damaged" cat, but no check engine light
i think OBDII cars will only go in to limp mode if the problem is a threat to the engine, like misfiring, or knock sensor activated stuff like that so if its blinking sumthing is definitely wrong.
maybe someone mistook the check engine light for "maintenace required"

It blinked for about 4 seconds after the car starts, and then turned off.

The CEL on my car turns off after you start it.

hmm... from what i've learned, is that the MIL (malfunction indicator ligh/check engine light) does in fact mean that something is wrong w/the engine, whether it'd be a history/pending DTC (diagnostic trouble code) or hard DTC stored to memory. true, depending on what the condition is, it may only run in2 limp mode w/a catalyst damgage or misfire condition, so i stand corrected on that 1. thus, a CEL or MIL is not a good thing 2 see...
