Got hit for RECON...
Got hit for RECON last night... But there's an upside to this cautionary tale...lol
Anyway, I was leaving D&B last night around 2am and as I was leaving the parking lot there was a cop that must have seen me trying to get outta there because he stopped his car in the middle of the road near the intersection of Kamakee and Queen st. Waited for me to pass and pulled up next to me at the light on Waimanu st right before the Piikoi light. I pulled over and immediately shut the car off (those you that know me, know that my car is loud as HELL..lol) As usual, the common question of "Do you know why I pulled you over?" was asked. I just kinda looked at him, handed him my license, my MAUI REGISTRATION and insurance card... and he answered his own question... "Because your slammed and no RECON!"
At first he was a little rude when I was trying explain that my car is registered on Maui and that it doesn't stay here on Oahu year around. Once that was squared away he was cool and explained that its kind of a gray area... I replied that "its understood" He then said "I haven't seen this one before, Nice car... Have a nice night" and returned my papers and license. I replied "Thank you Sir, have a nice night" and went on my way. Parked in the payless parking lot on Piikoi and proceeded to finish my night out at some back alley club on Hopaka St. but had valet parking and will remain nameless... (found out my really good ol'skool friends work there...lol)
Upside... Didn't get any tickets!
Lessons learned... Don't drive in town without RECON!... lol. And there are some cool HPD cops!
Stay outta back alley clubs down town... I'm too old for that scene anymore But back in the day that woulda been one of my spots...lol

Lol! You are one of the few ! I came to a realization that cops pull you over if you have aftermarket exhaust because it catches there attention more often. I
Imagine sleeping in your car and all of a sudden... BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!... Guarantee the cop wakes up and first thing he thinks "f@#king prick someone's gettin a ticket!"

Wow nice, strange though I run into at least 3/4 police officers per day, and no trouble yet. *knock on wood* they always look at me, but never pull me over; thankfully. Funny considering I'm running open downpipe too.
