Yeah, the demo cars do demonstrate the extremities of performance tuning sometimes and while I admire their need to press the performance edge, it detracks from the simple reality that on the public streets, there's a lot more at stake than just improving something like cornering ability by altering suspension geometry to something aggressive.

It's amazing the people you get to talk with when you show up accidently to their club gatherings. I ran into someone with a Mazda Miata that drives on the streets with TOE OUT at the front, simply because he didn't like how the car behaved at the entry into a corner. I don't recognize his car nor his face so unless he started to autocross hardcore, I was shocked to hear his comments, but nevertheless made for a very interesting conversation. Unless of course, your name is Avery Tsue who delivers Spam Musubi and Aloha Tofu at 3am around Tantalus, trying not to spill his wife's Mocha Latte in the car while driving sideways on most of the straights.
It's like those guys in Civic Coupes trying to convince me that having that massive GT rear wing is necessary for their driving on the streets.
jzz30 is right tho, demo cars are just that. It's usually a sample of the focus of that company. We do need the extremities to demonstrate what the car is capable of doing better in terms of performance and appearance. It's when we push the limits that the entire industry tend to grow along side with it.

one of our guys at the shop runs toe out, but he regularly autoX's and superlaps, nor does he have the money to allign his car every other week. but it makes turn in a bit quicker but the quirk to that is that corner exit becomes peaky. (same principals with RC cars hehe)
