Default Dyno Day 11-13-04

Well, it was a short session including 4 of the only cars on island with Hondata insulator gaskets... (what a coincidence).

I'm in the process of scanning the dyno sheets into my computer, which will be resized/rescaled so the intricacies can be seen. Otherwise, here's the details.

==============
Vince (MY04 S2000)

Comptech CAI
Hondata Insulator

Peak HP = 196.9
Peak TQ = 140
==============
Stephen (MY01 S2000)

Mugen CAI
Hondata Insulator
Mugen cooling mods
Denso IK24 gapped to .044
Mugen JASMA header
Spoon test pipe
J's Racing N1 single exhaust
Mugen N1 ECU
4.44 gears
(fresh oil change)

Peak HP = 203.3
Peak TQ = 134.8

AF ratio range: between 13.0 to 11.6
==============
Mike (MY02 S2000)

Spoon carbon/kevlar air duct
Mike's custom supplemental air-charger mod
Hondata Insulator
Mugen cooling mods
Amuse R1 race header
Amuse R1 Extra Titan dual exhaust

Peak HP = 194.3
Peak TQ = 133.2

AF ratio range: between 14.0 to (off the chart) richer than 10.0
==============
Jimmy (MY01 S2000)

AEM V2 CAI
Hondata Insulator
Mugen cooling mods
Denso IK24 gapped to .044
Mugen JASMA header
Spugen dual titanium V2 exhaust
Mugen N1 ECU

Peak HP = 198.4
Peak TQ = 137.3

AF ratio range: between 12.0 to 13.0

Mike's car needs to breathe better. The Spoon Snorkel really isn't doing anything.

Mike's car actually has a new mod that supplements the Spoon snorkel. There is a 3 inch diameter hole on the side of the airbox that has an intake hose going through the passenger-side front panel, down to behind the faux air duct (which is now cut open to allow fresh air to enter that area).

The restriction, if any, is all but gone with this mod. Perhaps Mike can put up a few pics on a job well done.

Wendell, Vince's car is pretty much stock with that intake only mod. Use his #'s as a reference to your car... with your torque figures being 140ish and above.

looking at those numbers just solidifies the fact that my engine is a weak bitch. anyone know what could be wrong? its just been eating me up. i think i have the weakest dyno for an s2k ever. mike, nice to see you found out what that bottleneck in your system was! i wonder what the mugen ecu would have done for you with your improved intake? any of you guys find out if they were factoring in the temp and humidity for our numbers? in the other dyno thread Dan raised a question about it and i'm curious to know also. i seriously think their humidity reading is off. anyway, nice to see you guys getting some solid numbers!

Atually I don't have the mugen cooling mods. Just the intake. I thought my numbers were a little higher. lol. ok, maybe by like .4 hehe. On the first run I hit 196.9 or something. I'm actually quite dissapointed in my numbers. Was hoping the numbers for an 04 would be higher.

I don't think your engine is necessarily weak, but what mods do you have or are you 100% stock?

Remember, my car and Steve's car has the most mods to date, and Mike is close behind. The correction factor is zero so it's uncorrected #'s.
