DVD of Hawaii's past events
Anyone interested in a DVD of our past event? I have 5 picture slideshows set to music and one ten minute movie. The cost is free, but you will have to pay for the blank DVD (~$5 + tips if you want ). First find out if your home DVD player is compatible with the following formats:
DVD-R
DVD+R
DVD-RW
DVD+RW
You can go to the following site to find out what formats your DVD player is compatible with: http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php
All I need is you to tell me what format you want and either get me a blank DVD or let me know and I'll go buy one for you and let you know the price of the blank DVD. Here's a screen shot of the title menu:

Steven, just go to CompUSA and get the cheapest APEX DVD, they look like crap, feel like crap, but are pretty capable of playing just about anything. And the best part is that when it breaks, you won't shed a tear when you dump it!
Oh and Rick, I've been trying to put together a quickie from the video from a meet or two ago, just haven't had time to really work on it. What kind of DVD burner did you get? Sony DRU500A?

Stephen, I agree with Colin on the Apex DVD players, they play basically every format out there, they run about $100. Some of them are hackable (region free). If it lasts you 2 years, you are ready to move on anyway. I bought a refurb Toshiba one 6 months ago for $65 plus shipping from ecost. Plays every format including MP3s. I could care less if it lasts me only a year (which oddly is what the manufacturer's warranty on the refurb model is).

I believe the cheapest model is the 1200 followed by the 1500. Circuitcity.com has the 1200 for like $60. Do a search on Yahoo shopping you'll be amazed at how cheap these things are.
