Default Drag

I didn't know that you had to have long pants/shoes/helmet to race at the raceway!

I went down there yesterday cause I'm super bored without the wife. I made sure I wore some shoes. So I pretty much just watched all the other cars run the track.

THAT VIPER IS BAD ASS!! I WISH I STAYED TO WATCH THE WHITE SUPRA

Does anyone know of good places on island to get a cheap helmet? I don't need one of my own since I'm probably only going to drag my car once every few months. And I guess for the Auto-X they have some you can just borrow, so I'll just do that.

I didn't want to spend $300.00 for a helmet that I don't really need. I drive faster on the roads then I will on the 1/4 track and I don't wear a helmet. I just think it's dumb that I have to wear it on the track. I understand for the auto-x cause your not just going in a straight line.

I thought that if you're in a convertible or your car goes faster than 14's that you need a helmet? Anyhow, I have a saying that goes "never compromise safety". Anything can happen and will most likely happen when you're least prepared.

Silvers808's right on the mark as HJC has a lot of value helmets that are very popular amongst many drivers. When I used to drag (not in my S2k), I also took along a couple of portable fire extinguishers just in case.

any convertible needs a helmet now.....

faster then 13.99 in a convertible needs a roll bar, but our factory roll hoops suffice.

hope this helps

A guy in a viper told me that I needed to have a helmet because I was in a convertable.

Okay okay you guys are both right. But I still don't want to spend to much money on a helmet.

Well at the moment I changed my mind about going to the Drag strip. Maybe later on down the road I will.

Jimmy is dark, but not THAT dark!

When I was looking for a cheapo helmet, I was also directed to the Honda Motorcycle dealership under Nimitz where I picked up an HJC helmet for about $120. It has served me well, though I look like one of the guys in the movie "Spaceballs" when I'm wearing it.
If you would like to borrow my helmet before committing to buying your own, give me a call.
I would like to make it down to the 1/4 mile again for a re-match with Conor, though it's harder for me now that I'm regularly scheduled for Saturday night shift.
