The OEM battery usually lasts about 2 years then you have to change it.

My 2000 lasted until 2004, but it had very low miles on it. Now I have an Optima.

Optima is the way to go. I had gone through two OEM batteries before changing to aftermarket. Example: I hardly drive my S. Car will sit for three weeks, turn once and car starts first crank.

Fvck Optima, forget what I said above. Mine crapped out today and only lasted 18 months. Goddamn thing left me standed at the Subway on Salt Lake while I was trying to pick up food. No warning at all, nothing but solid starts every day, and then bang, no more worky. Pushed the start button, it cranked hard for one second and then the whole car just died mid-crank.

Never had a battery die like that before so I was worried that wasn't the problem, but once I got it on the battery tester the guy at checker was like "this fuka is toast". They didn't have a replacement so I went to Sears and bought a DieHard Gold. While I was there I had them test it just to make certain it was really dead, and their comment was "this shit don't work no more".

My charging system works, there is no current draw with the car off, I have a head unit and a small amp, and there is no reason a $150 dollar optima yellow should have died like that.

Optima Yellow $150 with a one year full replacement plan, 2 year partial replacement

DieHard Gold $90 with a 3 year full replacement plan, and 8 year partial reiplacement

Go Sears
