Big beach... south end of island
just south of big beach... and keep going south good areas to go snorkeling, La perouse bay
http://www.mauidiveshop.com/locations/Laperouse.htm
any snorkeling... do it in the AM... better visibility... by PM ocean waves chops up water make it cloudy
Road to Hana.... cool road take +6 hours if you want to stop and look, bring snack on water, road has 30-40? (lost count) single lane bridges, use caution when using bridge
Get a Jeep.... I did for a week... you can see a little better
Costco next to airport

So far we have had 40 days and 40 nights of rain. Everything is soaked or washed away and Waikiki beach got dumped on by several million gallons of sewage. The roads have gone to hell in a hand basket and the potholes are now big enough to destroy the suspension and dent the rims all who are foolish enough to drive around the island of Oahu. Pray the weather gets better before your trip.

navigation in hawaii means keeping the mountain on one side of you and the ocean on the other. that way you know you're going in a consistent clockwise or counterclockwise direction aroiund the island. that's about it for navi.
as for maui, las time i visited must've been 10+years ago, sorry no good info for you here.

I was just in Maui last week for our yearly visit Miss it already. Did the whale watching thing and actually spoted at least a dozen humpbacks and a school of dolphins. Very cool.
For your honeymoon I would highly recomend staying at the Four Seasons in Wailea We stayed there for the 1st time this past trip and must say the price is worth it. Beautiful property, the service was phenomenal and there are alot of activities included with the rate (hence the higher pricing).
