Howdy guys!

I'm a member of s2ki that is stationed out in California (Camp Pendleton, near San Diego). Anyways, we just left on a WestPac deployment on Monday. We should be porting in Hawaii on Monday. I'm only there for that one day. However, I've never been to Hawaii, and I figure the best local folks to ask would be other S2K owners!

I think I'm pullin' into Pearl Harbor. I doubt I'll have enough time to make it down to Honolulu....so where do I go? How do I get around? I'm sure these questions will be answered by my fellow Marines, but I'll just get stock answers like "stay away from bar X, I've always heard place Y is really cool, and you should totally use Cab Service Z"....wtf ever. I want your opinion!

I need a hotspot for internet, and I'd like to experience at least a restaurant and/or shop that really characterizes "Hawaii" without being some stupid tourist thing.

Anyone available and wanna show me around, free drinks (including alcohol) and food involved if you hook me up! I just don't wanna waste my limited time I have there!

hey steve. the majority of bus lines pass by pearl harbor so if no shuttle is available you should be good to go.
as far as a one day visit, i would probably head down to waikiki to check it out. international market place is always fun.

preferrably something I'm not gonna find on the mainland. surely, Hawaii is known for seafood, yeah? various kinds of sushi also?

for seafood check out nico's and uncles's on pier 38. it's actually not that far from pearl harbor.

Hope none of you encountered some of my silly counterparts that got their dumb asses arrested...*sigh* Marines...what are you gonna do with us??

Anyways, I saw 4 S2Ks (all on Pearl Harbor). I had a great time down in Waikiki...yeah, it was touristy, but whatever.

We should hit Hawaii on the way back too...hopefully I can give you guys more notice...I do think it'd be cool to meet a couple of you! Anyways, thanks for the info...now that I have a better idea what Hawaii is like, next time I'm gonna wanna go hiking.

Anyways, see you all in a couple of months! (btw cabs are STUPID expensive....gaaaaahhhhh)
