They are illegal but only to the point of passing safety check. I doubt any cop would ever pull you over for just that. Also if you have clear corners and you are trying to pass safety all you need to do is get orange reflective tape and stick it onto the headlight.

Yeah, they are technically illegal. I have had cleared headlights and clear side markers for 3 years now and have never had trouble with cops or a safety check. Like jon said, if you are really worried then put orange DOT tape on or near your headlight. Your turn signals have to blink amber and you have to have some form of amber reflector to be totally legal. More recently built cars have barely any amber anyways. My turn and parking light bulbs are amber so it looks like I have amber anyways.

I have run clear headlight diffusers and side markers since 2005. even when i've been stopped for speeding, no license plates, and tint, I've gotten no slack for the clear lenses

obtaining safety check or recon will probably be the issue later on.

I actually passed recon using orange reflector tape :/ go figure. I think cops ( of course there is no reasoning to the madness) will pull you over for as little as not blinkering on a right turn from a right turn only lane. But I've noticed they tend to write you additional tickets when available. So that one failure to signal becomes no recon, fradulant safety, no front plate, tint, unsafe lane change. Of course when you fight it In court they dismiss the tickets but that takes time. I've cleaned up my driving a lot in order to remain clean these last two years and I notice now I don't even get attention from cops

On a side note I've noticed exhaust and license plate led catch there attention a lot..
