looks like a fatigue fracture in the HAZ. is the side that cracked the headder side or the exhaust side?
when i get back i can glue the two pieces back together if you want.

It was on the header side. I could tell there was alot of stress as when they were apart, there was a big gap in between and I could not even pull it together.

must be a combination of the exhaust pulling and maybe the megan headder is a little shorter?
in anycase when i put the cat on the car i always have to pull the exhasut a bit to make the nuts fit. when i made my test pipe i made it fit fairly close but i didnt notice how big of a gap the cat has untill i put it back on once cuz of my CEL.
my only explaniation to this would be that the residual stresses left in the HAZ, the pulling of the exhaust on the test. and from the heat from the headder plus different expansion rates from the resonator would cause this catastrophic failure. (we just went over welding defects in school haha! it still fresh in my mind)
unless of course you hit that sped bump so hard that it hit your test. did it actually hit your test?
