Blood moon late Monday night.
Full lunar eclipse tomorrow night and Hawaii will be the best place in the world to see it. I'll be on a rooftop somewhere with my camera.
The moon will turn red tomorrow night for about 90 minutes as the shadow of Earth covers its surface.
And Hawaii is one of the best places in the world to see the entire lunar eclipse, said Carolyn Kaichi, the Bishop Museum's planetarium manager.
The moon will be directly overhead, although the event will happen late at night.
The eclipse will start at 10:51 p.m., according to NASA's Web site. It will reach totality at 11:52 p.m. for an hour and a half.
Kaichi said the moon turns red instead of just disappearing because the sun's light is refracted by the earth's atmosphere and only the red spectrum passes through.
Tomorrow's weather forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with isolated showers, so the weather service says there's a pretty good chance the moon will be visible during most or at least part of the eclipse.
The Bishop Museum will hold a Lunar Viewing Party tomorrow night from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Cost is $3. Call 847-3511 for more information.

Looks like I will be on a roof top with the D200 taking some pix, hopefully the people next door don't get the wrong idea of a guy on the roof with a camera and a 6 pack.
