Best way to sell a car in Hawaii?
I'm trying to sell my S2000 and not having much luck. In a month I've only had 1 person come look at it.
I have it on Craigslist, but I rarely get any legitimate inquiries. I also have it on militarycarlot.com hoping to appeal to some of the military guys coming and going.
I have thought about Autotrader, but it's expensive and I've tried it before and usually just end up with people calling me saying "Hey, if you pay us $99 we'll sell your car FAST!"
I'm also considering eBay. Has anyone sold theirs through eBay? I'm worried there's too small of a pool of bidders out here, but I could be wrong.
I have about 2 months left, but I'm beginning to worry about the prospect of it not selling before I move.
Cheers,
-Matt

i've had great success with craigslist. i think it's just the luck of the draw as well. your s2000 is a great car but there are people who low ball a lot here so just be prepared
i think if anything price is key. there would be a lot more interest if you put obo etc.
good luck with the sale!

i've had much success on craigslist as well but it definitely depends on the current market.
i sold my xb and f4i in 48 hours a few years ago. low baller central @ forumshawaii
you do have some time so just be patient or start entertaining offers to get some traffic.
never sold a car on ebay but be prepared to be low balled there too. glws!

I've also had great success selling on CL. I've found the key is to price fairly, I use edmunds.com private party price adjusted for condition and milage. Also go back to bone stock. Looks like you got it covered so it's probably just that the S is a specialty car.
Your car looks outstanding, I'll put the word out with my friends. GLWS.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I'll keep going with craigslist this month and see how it goes. I'll also try posting on forumshawaii... it can't hurt!
I think it does come down to the S being a specialty car. And of course 3 other S2000's have popped up recently. One in particlar being a 2005 Silverstone that looks identical to mine for a few thousand less.
I read that taking a video walkaround of the car helps draw people in, so I've done that and posted it up on craigslist. Hope it helps!
Thanks again for the support!
