GENKI only because I'm to cheap to go anywhere else for sushi. Plus me and the wife only like cali rolls and spicy tuna
I like Genki's spicy tuna roll, but that's it.
I hear Kacho is really good in the Waikiki Parc, but have never eaten there.
I do recommend Akasaka, and no, it's not because of the proximity to Femme Nu.
Yohei is pretty good too.

They serve fugu there? I didn't know fugu was available in Hawaii!

it was smuggled in from japan. i've heard of certain places that serve it here, but it might be the hawaiian fugu. i'm not sure if's it's banned or not.

it was such an unforgettable experience, i'd recommend it to anyone who's an adventurous diner. don't go telling masa that i told you either, otherwise i'm sure he'd be serving up a different sort of special.

I second that for a nice casual atmosphere.

How about Sasabune? If it isn't the purest sushi restauraunt it certainly is the most expensive. Order the "special" but be prepared for a fat bill.

went to this joint last night. great sushi. did the chef's course meal and with a sake sampler, the girlfriend and i ended up eating $200's worth of pure sushi. kinda felt like soup nazi style.

well worth it!

i'm going to get the tomashiro (sp?) poke tomorrow to compare to ruger. Ruger was the best tuna i've never had in my life!

eating in honolulu... esp if you're into japanese, asian cuisine... plentiful!
