I'm in the AF and work from Hickam. The only TDY's I've seen since I've been here is a deployment to Bosnia and now my third tdy to Japan.
Just thankful that I haven't been to Iraq or Afghanistan.
Good luck on making E7 sounds like you deserve it. I'm still E5 but I only have 6 years in the AF so it's not bad. I hope to make E6 next year.

DAMN, I don't know why the hell I wanted to climb Mt Fuji. That had to be the stupidest, hardest, and pointless thing I've ever done for a stick and to see a sunrise.
I did make it to the top and got all the stamp that I could on my stick which is worth about 35-40 dollars after the initial price and then 200 yen per stamp.
I didn't see the sunrise from the summit, I made it to the nineth station and then to about 1/4 of the way up, I knew the sun was going to come up at 430 so I just sat against a rock at 4 and waited. My main goal when I first started was to make it to the summit for the sunrise, but an hour into the climb I just wanted to make it to the summit. I'll post some pics when I get back to hawaii.
I'll never do that again....

i remember when you get that high, you walk about 10 steps and stop, then walk another 10 and rest. repeat as neccessary until you reach the top.

Yeah it worked out to about 10-15 steps and then I would stop and rest. Coming down the Mt was pretty ruff on the feet. I think I got my blisters from coming down. O well It's done.

Here's a picture of Mt Fuji after I finished the climb up and walked down for 4 hours. I took me from 2030 to 0530 to get to the summit. I stopped at 0400 to watch the sunrise at 0430.
After the climb
From the Summit
And this time I didn't go out to Roppongi and get drunk, I just went and checked out Shinjuku. It was pretty tempting to go to Roppongi but I didn't want a hangover before I climbed Mt Fuji.
Sorry for the long post. Actually no I'm not. I earned this one.
