So I just got my latest Autoweek and it has the long term test of the Mazda RX-8. In it they say the car delivered a whopping 16.5 miles per gallon over 22,000 miles AND used 12 quarts of oil! Ha Ha, this is the same engine that was originally rated for 250 hp before Ford.... er Mazda "revised" things and settled on 238.

It makes me appreciative of our 2.0 and 2.2 liter Honda engines! My current car is getting around 24-26 MPG and using NO oil (strange but true). It's a low emissions vehicle to boot! Long live Honda!

I still don't care for the looks, but I hear it's fun to drive.

I test drove an RX-8 three times before I found my S2k. I thought it was fun to drive but I just don't like the exterior looks.

Same gas mileage and no oil consumption for me too.

Man did you see the news the other day? That RX-8 was totally engulfed in flames after hitting a tree (running from the cops).
