Is an ap1 really faster than an ap2?

Assuming equal drivers, I'd say it's course dependent. If it's a tight track with a lot of 1st gear corners, the AP2 will get going quicker. If the track can keep the AP1 at 6000 RPM in the slowest turn, I'd say its much closer if not in favor of the AP1

in best motoring they changed over just the rims and tires from the ap2 on to the ap1 and the car went .5sec. faster around the track.
according to bestmotoring the new suspension is better for time attack kind of deals because the rear stays more stable.

that AP2, at the time the video was taken, had the F20C motor.
the AP1 had the suspension settings change in 02'.
I don't know if (02'-03') suspension settings are the same, as the AP2's.
