not necessarily IMO. the question is who's driving.

though i feel it's easier to drive the ap2 fast.

Assuming equal drivers, I'd say it's course dependent. If it's a tight track with a lot of 1st gear corners, the AP2 will get going quicker. If the track can keep the AP1 at 6000 RPM in the slowest turn, I'd say its much closer if not in favor of the AP1

well if your not talking about powerband and rev limit. the suspension on the ap2 is supposed to be superior to the ap1

That's also debatable. The RE-050s don't have anywhere near the amount of grip the S-02s had, but the lower profile offset this a bit. Remember that for everyone who says the early cars had "snap oversteer" there was someone who called it "nimble and quick to turn in"

in best motoring they changed over just the rims and tires from the ap2 on to the ap1 and the car went .5sec. faster around the track.
according to bestmotoring the new suspension is better for time attack kind of deals because the rear stays more stable.

heres my view....

ap2 is easier to drive fast. ap1 is slightly faster but harder to drive.

that AP2, at the time the video was taken, had the F20C motor.

the AP1 had the suspension settings change in 02'.

I don't know if (02'-03') suspension settings are the same, as the AP2's.
