Just this past Thursday around 1 30 pm
Heading west bound, the corner after the vineyard exit on the H1 but before the pali exit, you guys know which corner im talking about? its the hill with a small curve?
anyways, i was on the left lane, middle lane was empty and right lane had a HUGE toyota truck, i think it was a tacoma or tundra, not sure, but it was HUGE
i was trying to avoid the toyota that was moving in the same lane as me
i slammed on my breaks too hard *dont know why i did it* just my reaction.
turned the wheel a little to left, lost control the car spun out and did a 180 and i hit the highway wall so hard
Now the entire frontend of the rsx is in ruins...
windshield got damage, 2 air bags came out, front bumper is entirely crushed towards the engine, headlights are gone, radiator, fenders are gone, need a new hood, passenger door is jammed, they didn't check out the car yet but looks like i got more engine parts damaged...
worst part is he didn't get damaged at all cuz he just moved back into the right lane without taking any damage.
not sure if the rsx is gonna be declared total'ed but some say if airbags came out, minor engine parts..some might not fix it and call it total'ed
also, not sure if its gonna be me at fault, cuz i wasn't doing anything stupid
hence this all happened at 1 30 pm in the afternoon, u can assume how fast anyone could've been going at that area....

yea, im fine
just a little ache and scared when im on the road sometimes on those tight turns
i dont know why, sometimes i just dont so confident as much as before
im thinking of doing some auto X, when i get a new car
that truck stopped like so far away and walked back and asked me are you ok?
im was like "what do you think"?
up to this minute he still doesnt admit to the fact that he was on the cellphone till he saw me and hes like it was your fault that u lost control....this has nothing to do with me cuz my car didn't take any damage....
i mean he got very lucky when he didn't hit anyone as he went back into the right lane, as some ppl told me, i should've let him rear ended me and i would've been fine, then again i dont know if i would still be sitting here or posting on this board he if did rear end me
i just dont know what to do about my current car or what i should get next
i think im 100% done with FWD, i guess its also a drivers issue but i always wanted a s2k or something that has RWD...would it make driving much easier?
if something like this would happen again....RWD make it a better case? better control?
do i have a choice about total?
if it is total'ed, what would happen next?

jdm RSX,
Sorry to hear about your accident. However, your questions on the S2000 Vs. RSX handling are a bit off base (IMO) Yes, the S2000 handling limits are higher, but the car will not be easier to drive than the RSX. FWD is more predictable in panic situations, expecially if you are going to "slam on the brakes" too hard. The S2000 with 50/50 weight distribution would have spun like a top! Probably a 360 or more in the same situation! I'm not trying to discourage you from the S2000, just trying to offer some advice on the realities of S2000 handling and costs of ownership.

I totally agree with Colin....especially after auto-X yesterday. It was the first time I've Auto-X'd a RWD car, and there's definitely a much greater tendency for the rear end of the car to come around. Whenever I started to lose grip with my FWD cars, they tended to "plow". There was none of that with the S2000....it was either gripping, or starting to spin.
