If at all possible get a union bartending, the wages is a lot higher. When I was in Vegas we got paid 18.xx an hour plus tips. And we have a set tip deduction between the casino and the irs (most hotels do). I believe the union guys here are getting about the same. I had a lot of friends that bartend on Oahu before, some of them still tend bar ie. Living room, Pipes, and a few others. Bartending is probably one of the most fun jobs out there. You have potential to make a lot of money (well based off of my money in Vegas) I mean really good money. Oahu I did a few private parties that paid pretty good. And my friends made good money to survive and still have fun. Good luck for what ever you do.
