My alternator needs replacement, so I call up Honda windward and they tell me it cost almost $650 . I thought I owned a Honda not a Mercedes. I found one from Majestic Honda for about 370 shipped, I believe it is rebuilt, not a big deal to me. I was going to rebuild the one I have but I don't really have time right now, and I already replace the brush and regulator in it so I think the problem is deeper and possibly a waste of time to chase.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place on Island that might be a better deal. I was considdering getting one from Checkers, I believe the ones they sell are rebuilt Denso units, they retail for around 350. Any help would be appreciated.

try starts and alternators in kalihi or redline automotive. sometimes napa might be cheap too!

I thought about checking them out. Maybe I will give them a call tomorrow.

taka has that spare motor at his shop, maybe that owner would see you the alternator....if its still on there

I asked smitty but he said he was going to keep it with the motor, maybe I will check with Taka.

Good thing is I am in no hurry to replace it,I hope a good deal come my way.

no alt on the motors at our shop. but i ALWAYS take my starters and alternators to waynes auto electric. they will test it on the spot and tell you what is wrong and a price to fix not that i bother but yea i think they are on queen street just off ward past the corvette shop.
