About Porter Cable Machines
I've recieved a few PM's about the Porter Cable polisher so here is the answer in one spot. I have the 7424 Model and purchased it from this site.

They ship your order out within a few days and prices aren't too bad. They are also highly recommended in the Wash & Wax forum of S2KI.com
I purchased this kit:
http://www.properautocare.com/74uldema.html
and the 6 1/2 inch orange constant pressure pad:
http://www.properautocare.com/74uldema.html
The orange constant pressure pad is used with "3M Swirl Mark Remover" picked up locally at Checker Autoparts to take out deep waterspots and swirl marks. This is the only pad I use. The white pad that comes with the machine is great for applying your favorite wax, but I use Zaino wax which I found went on faster and better by hand.
If you purchased your PC from a local hardware store you will need:
The 6" Flexible Backing Plate for the 7424.

A pad or pads, again I would just get the and the 6 1/2 inch orange constant pressure pad:

And you will probably need the larger counter weight for the 6" pads:

If you have any questions feel free to post them here or PM me.
P.S. Maybe our community organizer should consider holding a Wash & Wax detailing day?

thanks nate! your car always looks really good.
i use the hitachi mentioned in the product description. i bought it because it has a straight buffing action and the handles are really comfortable.
slim's has a PC randon orbital buffer on sale for $100
so who's got the house big enough for wash and wax day?
