My friend just bought a used 00 Camaro LS1 and hasn't stopped talking smack for the past 2 weeks that he's had it. The first day he had it he tried to race me from stop light to stop light under H1 on Nimitz. After seeing his car run and after riding in it....I don't think I'm ever going to try and run with him. I used to never like the american muscle cars, thinking that they had lots of power but were built to heavy. WOW is the only word I could describe the feeling and sound.

I was wondering if anyone ever try and race one of these camaro's with a LS1 before, either on the track or on the street?

I try to explain to him that it's not really a fair race being that he has twice the engine under his hood. I told him he should race a corvette with a V8 in it and see how he does.

my cousin's got a 01 SS about 370hp and it rips!! 1st gear is tire spin, second gear plants you in the seat.
my dad's 03 c5 vette feels about the same speed.

there are quite a few 600hp camaros and stangs out there. they are big and heavy but they are super fast in a straight line. if u wanna race one just make sure you have to stop and turn. it's what they can't do.

I was just thinking that at a Highway run I might have a little chance since people, I thought were having a little luck with EVO and STI on the highway roll. I guess before it gets to about 100 something...RIGHT?????

i raced a camaro before. it was suped up too and a cop was driving it!

we raced on vineyard from stop lite to stop lite cause thatsa ll we needed for me to blow his doors off!

his car had too much power that he couldnt put to the ground so he kinda swerved into my lane but it was ok cause i was already way infront of him.

he was pissed and he pulled me over and made me pop my hood and he pulled out his mag lite to see what kinda mods i had! haha

but that was with my last car.

I guess that's only something a girl can get away with. I've seen a cop out at the track racing his/her black camaro it still had the light on top. I thought it was pretty cool. I think he lost as well, the other car was another american muscle car.

On the plus side, we can scool them at autocross! I don't think I've ever been beaten by a Camaro .... ever.
