Well, you're right and wrong. As far as popular format, you're 100% right; however, I don't think blu-ray will just go away like Betamax
However, I posted an article a few months ago about how NEC started shipping chipsets that read both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. I figure within the next year, we should be seeing units able to play both formats. As history shows, I'd stay away from anything Sony supports... mini-disc and UMD (which is really just an attempt to revive their mini-disc).

I disagree with the notion that HD-DVD will win on the merit of the p0rn industry. Cost of transfers is one of the reasons why they have so far elected to use HD-DVD(cheaper). That is the current reason for them choosing as such. As long as Warner keeps putting out quality transfers, HD-DVD has a shot even though Sony has Disney, etc. Animated films look good on 26" CRT's let alone played through an upconverting or high definition player on 50" plasmas.
I hope HD-DVD "wins," but I'm not waiting around or continuing to purchase inferior copies of movies. I went from a non-progressive player to HD. I had my eye on an Oppo player, but elected to make the big jump all at once. It's been about nine months and I, nor my family, regret it. Personally, i think Oppo makes a better player at a better price if you're looking at entry level upconverting players, imo.

I think an intake would help things out a bit...
Where like my Impala adding those items got me about 60hp

What drives me crazy about this car is that adding an intake, header, test pipe and exhaust MIGHT get you 6-8hp.

Not sure if you're happy about that(that the current car was brilliantly developed) or mad.
Compare...

Header- $700
TP-$100
Exhaust-$600
Intake-$300
$ to hp =$242 per hp gained
Impala

TP-$100
Exhaust-$600
Intake-$300
$ to hp = $28 per hp gained
