I has tile spacers and hand tools. No tile saw though. Do not make the mistake of using the tile scorer/breaker. This fails like a paraplegic with a PB&J at doggie day care.

And I am just gonna keep talking about tile, if you want a nice listelo (garnish) type tile, be prepared to dish out the cash.

Center your tile behind the most dominant feature on your wall--usually the stove.

You can rent a tile saw from Home Depot, they tend to get pretty pricey to buy.
