All thaty o need is Cat5 it are cheaper! Cat5e or Cat6 is not needed for such little bandwidth.

Meh... Cat5e is the goods... Only n00bs use Cat5... It is so last millennium...

Besides, try finding regular old Cat5 at your local computer store. I doubt he has the tool to put the ends on it or the need for a bulk roll where he could actually save the pennies per foot...

You need to raise it some, then r-align the car, or ditch the 18's.
