With storage at a premium in the condo we were trying to figure out how to store 300-400 DVDs and came to the conclusion that we can't. There isn't anywhere practical to shelve them.

So, I do what any computer nerd would do. I beefed up the storage in my computer where I plan to rip them all. I will store the originals in a box at my parents' place.



It would take a book case 4 feet wide x 3 feet tall to store that many DVDs.

Good luck with that. With all that effort going into ripping those, I think I'd invest in a backup drive.

There is fault tolerance, already. It's a RAID5 array, but once a 2TB USB drive is affordable I will add one for tolerance to multiple drive failures.
