Just sent an e-mail to all the folks on my guest list for Saturday... At least I think I did.

I'd really like to start the party later in the day due to the heat forecast for Saturday. I am thinking like 5 or 6 PM. Is that going to be a problem for anybody???

Most folks that I talked to about coming didn't really seem interested in the time - just wanted to know when it was. I am hoping it is no BFD that I am moving it.
I received no email.
LIES! Check your gmail account, sir.

oh, I had your email auto dumped.

If there's anything good these days about consoles, it's the "unification" of architectures that should allow backward compatibility with each new console. Since everything is running on INTEL/CISC processors, there's probably very little "porting" required. It's been some time since I compared consoles, but how does the Sony online "experience" compare to xbox? That seemed to be one thing that microsoft had going for it back when the xbox 360 launched.. Obviously that was some time ago and maybe they're both virtually equal..?
My understanding of the Xbox One S is that it is a 4K/UHD solution and a slimmer design. No other big changes. I am curious to see if they changed the audio encoding on it, if so it would be worth it for me to switch.

If you hated the 360 UI, you are REALLY going to hate the Xbox1 UI.
I just googled it and holy jeebus it's that g-ddamn metro/windows 8 ui.

I think one of the big appeals to me initially about the ps3 was how they didn't require you to pay an annual fee for online gaming. That's clearly been nixed as everyone wants the monies. I'll definitely have to hold off on buying a new console until I can actually spend some time playing it.
Mostly correct! Xbox One at launch ran a version of Win 8, now it runs a version of Win 10. It's decent and has definitely gotten better since launch IMO, and the integration/streaming they do with Win 10 is pretty cool (a la Steam link/streaming).
