For sure, except I gotta get a ladder, climb the ladder, get the car keys, follow some damn sequence.. ah to hell with it I'll just use the garage remote. I have no intention of doing the mod. I have plenty of other things to waste time on instead.

It is a Modifry thing. I did it a long time ago and it has been very, very reliable. Better than dealing with batteries.

Very cool mod.. Only thing that's annoying imo is if you have multiple garage doors. I still haven't gotten around to programming the cars that have the built in remotes in the visors and rear view mirrors. I find the procedure a pita as you gotta climb up and press the dumb learn button on the actual garage opener..
I parked Bobbie's BMW under the door opener and opened the sunroof. Standing on the seats got me close enough to hit the learn button on the opener so no ladder needed. Plus I was already, more or less, in the car so getting to the homelink buttons on the mirror didn't require running to the car.

Ha.. at not even 2.5yrs old she'd need the 8ft ladder to (maybe) reach the garage opener, and I'm not sure I'd even trust her at 10 (she's a bit clumsy).

Your house is pretty new, you don't have a learn button on the hardwired opener? Don't get me wrong, I have a learn button on the motor unit itself, but the opener next to the entry way has a learn button as well.

That said, I still haven't programmed the BMW.

Did someone say Rabbit? A little over 121,000 miles, and still no problems of any kind.

As of right now, my hood release pretty much seized up, the piece under the hood. Which is good, because I never need to worry about it opening accidentally, but I need a hammer when I do need it opened. And... my hatch latch has decided to crap out on me, so the hatch is being held shut with a bungee cord. Other than that, and my multiple accidents, the car is in great shape.
