Since you all have drones, anyone want to come by and take a peek at my gutters and lemme know if they need cleaning?

I've thought about buying a drone for this and inspecting after they're cleaned to make sure they did a good job.

This is what I have.

I got that stuck in Jens hair within 15 minutes of opening it.
I bet that felt good.

I made the mistake of trying mine indoors. (Christmas gift... It was cold outside.) It went full throttle into a kitchen cabinet and I was making my first repair seconds after turning it on.

So, I was looking up hard start kits. And they look like a secondary capacitor to start the unit. Isn't one capacitor enough? If the primary failed, and the secondary was taking over, how would you know? When the unit quit, would you then need to replace both?

Enquiring minds want to know.

The hard start capacitor gives a much larger blast for the start than the start/run capacitor which can be beneficial on some style of compressors. My pool one does not start without it anymore but considering it is several years beyond life expectancy I'm OK with that.

I had to replace both on my pool heat pump this year after the mouse got in there and blew the hard start capacitor apart. I have not uaed one on the home units yet but I had an HVAC guy tell me which one to buy in case it comes in handy down the road. I think it was $8 so I spent that and threw it in the HVAC part bin in the basement as a just in case.

You can test capacitors to know if it is good or not and needs to be replaced so you don't necessarily need to do both.
