While we were diagnosing the A/C we also went looking for window A/C's just in case. We went to:
Home Depot--out of stock
Lowes--only had 230v units
Wal Mart--out of stock
Target--we called and they had some in Annapolis! We drove to Annapolis and looked for them, but we could not find them. Come to find out, they were actually out of stock too. So that was fun.

We slept in the basement with a fan and dehum on. At least it was dry heat and the air was moving.
Capacitors are about 10-15 bucks. I keep a spare as well as a hard start kit in case of emergency.
I remember spending about $100 on a "car audio" capacitor. Because reasons.

I am a lot smarter now than I used to be..

Yea... Spending $400 on a racing drone is WAY smarter.

Who exactly are you racing? Are their drone racing leagues? See who can take the quickest aerial pictures?

Please esplain. I get why you keep a spare capacitor but what's the rational for a hard start kit? Also, are the capacitors for a/c compressors semi-standard? Maybe I ought to have one lying around too

Are you sure? I swear subs "hit harder" that had the baller big capacitors. You knew the people were hardcore if their headlights dimmed with every base note.

They usually have high-res cameras but they aren't for taking pictures. Racing Drones are usually referred to as FPV - First Person View. You can either broadcast the image to a screen on your controller or wear 3D type goggles that let you see what the drone sees. The range is limited to a hundred yards or so and the batteries only last for about 15 minutes. Size and weight matter. They are small (there is a class called "250" - 250 millimeters measuring from rotor center to rotor center across the drone) very fast (40 miles an hour "stock" but some of the modded ones can go twice as fast).

These aren't for spying on your neighbor or taking pretty video of you skiing down a mountain. Just like race cars from the 1960's, they are stripped down to the bare go-fast parts and made for competition.
