really trying to figure out if i should get snowtires/rims for the STi this year. i just don't know how bad winter will be in the baltimore area. its a lot of money if they aren't needed.

While I bought my wife's ring on credit I'm not sure I would do it these days but that is a personal choice. so I guess

i'm not stranger to snow tires. I'm from upstate ny remember i will only go with dedicated snow tires (blizzaks) as they are definitely best due to the sipes in the snow.
just trying to figure out the money side of things and pondering "out loud" (on the forum/internet)
my car is in the shop still, so i have my deductible to pay, then i have xmas coming up, then i have this ring i'm buying. i know snows will last 5-6 seasons due to the hard rubber compound they have. so it is an investment, but not necessarily one i can make now.

Anything deeper than a foot and the STI is probably not going anyway snow tires or not IM). If we get a freak storm (like in 2009/10) wait till the roads are clear.
