No worries, just wasn't sure if that was a monitored mail box any more. You were the only person I could ask that sort of question.
"Do you have any free home brew?"

"How does it feel to have the same initials as Eminem?"

"How is Adrienne doing?"

"How do you stay so damned skinny?"
Close...
You are the only person I know that might be able to answer this. What is the feasibility of porting HandBrake to utilize the Phi coprocessor?

We know that H.264 (x264) scales to mulit-core CPUs extremely well. Given that Phi is a 60-core x86 coprocessor it doesn't seem to far fetched that this could be a brilliant application.

These things debuted at $3000 but now going for $200. At this price, it could be a fun project, or a complete waste of money.

We have some Phis here at work.

Are they really only $200 now?

Just looked at that link. The passive cooling ones need a VERY high powered fan that has special mounting things and is VERY loud. Also you need the intel compiler for the Phis, so I doubt it would be easy.

Well. They must have a very loose interpretation of passive, then. I wasn't concerned about the compiler.
