You are the only person I know that might be able to answer this. What is the feasibility of porting HandBrake to utilize the Phi coprocessor?
We know that H.264 (x264) scales to mulit-core CPUs extremely well. Given that Phi is a 60-core x86 coprocessor it doesn't seem to far fetched that this could be a brilliant application.
These things debuted at $3000 but now going for $200. At this price, it could be a fun project, or a complete waste of money.

Just looked at that link. The passive cooling ones need a VERY high powered fan that has special mounting things and is VERY loud. Also you need the intel compiler for the Phis, so I doubt it would be easy.
