I'm just a haole, but even I know that living on the big island has this inherent risk. It's a volcano, you're living on it, bad things can happen.

The creepy thing to me is that it is happening in slow-motion. When I think of a natural disaster, I think of something like a tornado or earthquake that just lasts for a few minutes. If you are sitting in your house watching this ish ooze towards you, there is nothing you can do about it but sit there and fester over it. Eventually you will have to move but even 90 year old grandpa with his walker can get out of the way.
