Live far and pay less, live close and live in the Ghetto or pay way way more.
With Gambling coming to the National Harbor, things may change a bit around there.
Arundel mills mall has tons or crime now.

I haven't personally checked out Oxon hill or Fort Washington. But we did a search for a single family home with basement, garage, min 3 bed and min 2 baths and up to 250k, a lot of fort washington homes came up and these homes were around 200k and less. but these homes were very very nice, mostly built in the mid 90's and around 2002 or so. did a google map search and did a 360 degree to see the neighbors and surrounding area and looked like nice neighborhoods.

An extra $30/year "to upgrade the state’s 67 major sewer treatment plants that discharge into tidal waters, upgrade failing septic systems and fund cover crops for fields — all to improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay," is just fine by me
