Speaking as someone who has not had a power outage longer than 4 hours in the last ten years I am happy with my power company.

We've had multiple multi-day outages. Mostly in the summer, but we had a winter one, too. I'd say we've had at least four and we've lived here for about six years.

Less-than-a-day outages have numbered at least twice that. My favorite are the half-power outages. Some outlets work, some don't, some have a very little trickle of electricity coming through... It's interesting.

Our newest power company, co-op, did major tree trimming when they took over. Our longest outage has been about 4 hours. I just gave the generator a tune up and new battery. I trust no utility to perform when you need them
We have previously lost power for over 5 days several times, both in the winter and the summer. If I planned on being here long term now, I would use Obama bucks and add solar. 22 years of mowing rocks on a mountain has gotten old. (so have I)

Do it. You can market to apocalyptic survivalist types when you sell.

My Electric bills are way cheap out here, $ 85-95 a month, I am not a low electricity user either

Nope. You can't dig a shelter op here. Even if you got through the rocks, the septic tank would leak on your head.
