Less-than-a-day outages have numbered at least twice that. My favorite are the half-power outages. Some outlets work, some don't, some have a very little trickle of electricity coming through... It's interesting.

We have previously lost power for over 5 days several times, both in the winter and the summer. If I planned on being here long term now, I would use Obama bucks and add solar. 22 years of mowing rocks on a mountain has gotten old. (so have I)

Nope. You can't dig a shelter op here. Even if you got through the rocks, the septic tank would leak on your head.
