it's overcast - the one night I can stay up late & sit outside
In August, when it's 85 at midnight and every blood-sucking insect in the world is out?

Those clip on miniature fans that spew out some invisible chemical (yes they're probably shaving years off my life) made by Off really work - no bugs ever. It's not too bad at night (heat).
[/quote]

Where I used to live in Bethesda, there were swarms of Mosquitoes in my backyard in the summer, but only in the last decade as I can recall. They probably banned spraying for them in Montgomery county,

I get some gnats when cutting the law here but virtually no mosquitoes at night on the deck.

Another thing, all the stink bugs seemed to have died off, I see some dead ones in the garage but no live ones for a few months now?

From what I remember. Stink bugs like it warm. Therefore they are usually outside during the summer and try to get inside when it starts getting colder.

I haven't seen a stink bug in forever - this is weird - the lightning bugs are back.

They're usually around in the early part of the summer - then they're gone. They came back though. I don't think they're nearly as abundant as they used to be...
