Does it have to be a Chevy? You have had some trouble with that truck, maybe there is something else to consider.

i have an electrical problem with the STi now...

the list on that car now includes:

possible head gasket problem (will know saturday)
huge electrical problem where everything electrical turns off and back on but yet car keeps running. and head lights flicker
screw in brand new tire... hopefully the road hazard program i bought for them will replace it at no charge... i'll find out in about an hour or so
