Somewhere at the junction of modern open-source hardware and early 80’s Russia lives a beautiful new device called the Ice Tube Clock. The centerpiece of this old-meets-new clock is a Russian-made, 9-digit, vacuum florescent display (VFD).
well it looks like a normal clock display so thats no fun.

I'm not feeling the wood bases for the nixie ones, though. Not "industrial" enough.
I'd like to see a daytime photo of the VFD clock. I bet the tube is more obvious when the lights are on.

...with the few skillz I have left from school & assuming the clock can be disassembled - I would put a metal cover over it.
Save a few a Coke cans
cut the open with some tin snips
roll them out with a roller
get some small tacks
& plate that s.o.b.
a local artist would "plate" stuff in beer bottle caps. Everything she did was awesome - talk about patience. She hammered each cap out flat & would tack them on each over overlapping the other.

Ah, I have familarity with that business park. Not into road cycling, however. Nor am I up to riding for 24 hours.
