True story: I knew someone in an online forum who had a bad habit of taking their antidepressants with a vodka chaser. We would constantly tell them this was a bad idea, but they just didn't care. One time this person disappeared for a week, then popped up and announced they were diabetic. Their thoughts were jumbled and incoherent, and their writing was suddenly the worst kind of broken, misspelled English. We never did figure out what happened, but our best guess was that some combination of the meds, booze, and insulin shock had triggered some incident that resulted in brain damage.
