This is a reasonable assumption. But wouldn't the uncertainty drive you mad? You're risking your life in a balls hot desert unsure what's going on. Keep in mind they're like 5-10 years younger on average. Would you have the attitude, "Eh, they're probably get around to paying us..?"

Allan - relax. historically the military gets paid even with the other fed employees don't.

Now, if the Army can't figure out how to pay it's own people internally (which happens more frequently than gov't shut downs) then that's their issue..
