they use 125cc and 250cc BASIC bikes at these classes. ANYTHING you buy later will be a far better ride than those, FYI.

How did you like your 250r, Mani?

I think I'd want something a little more powerful, but I'm not really sure. A 500 or 650 twin, I think. Definitely no supersports. I'm keeping it reasonable.

For a highway commute, 250s are no good.
For a spirited lightweight backroad short-distance riding, 250s are ok.

As a beginner, 600cc standards will be your best option, however, since you are tall, you should also look into 600cc supermotos/dual-purpose bikes.
