It's hard to go wrong with Sony...I had a Trinitron that lasted for over 15 years. It still lives in my daughter's house and is still working. I now have a Mitsubishi 55" HDTV and it's good but I'm looking at a VEGA HDTV to replace it with....

i just think sony is overpriced, they do last a while, but so does mitsubishi, i have the 48" widescreen hdtv, love it, my parents have had their 51" mitsu for 10 years now, great TV
