With the drop in outdoor temperatures, mice have a tendency to try and migrate from the outdoors into surrounding areas that provide warmth and a source of food. Mice have recently been spotted in some parts of our facilities, including the PHO campus dining areas. Freddie Mac is aware of the issue and has implemented an aggressive treatment plan. The Fairfax County Health Department has found no evidence of mice in the campus kitchens or prep areas. Employees are asked to limit food in the work area to those items that can be stored in sealed containers, to be diligent about avoiding and cleaning up spills when eating at their desks and to throw food waste away in the pantries rather than dispose of it in their office or cube wastebaskets. Eliminating food sources for the mice will help us contain and eradicate the population. If you see mice in your area, please notify HelpMe.
