Thanks, Tom. I thought I had narrowed my search down to the Panasonic commercial 50" display. It doesn't have speakers nor a HD receiver built in. I don't necessarily need those items as i have a decent surround system and satellite. The built-in HD receivers are only good for those with cable.

The problem: no one knows when the next shipment of those will be coming into the US. So then I expanded my price range a little bit. Then the Pioneer I was considering is in short supply as well. I can't afford the Elite series, but really enjoyed my previous Pioneer HDtv.

I cringed at the money spent on the last one, but we never had a single problem with it. I've researched quite a few companies' products. I'm not going to settle as the sticker shock will have long faded before the tv is replaced again. I can't afford exactly what I would like, but that's nothing new!
