There are a few posts on s2ki that suggest I can get away with removing the oil pan and the timing cover but leaving the head on.

That would make a difference but as I recall it's leg room that's the problem.

I'm curious what you thought about the Maserati. I think they are amazing styling wise, and I LOVE the noise they make.

The Internet says it weighs about the same as my car but that is an additional 100 horsepower. That thing has got to be a rocket.

As long as the oil pan is off you can get take the timing cover off.
